How Much Pea Gravel Do You Need?
To find how much pea gravel you need, multiply your area in square feet by the depth in feet to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 for cubic yards, and multiply by 1.4 for tons. A 15 by 10 foot patio at 2 inches deep is 25 cubic feet, about 0.93 cubic yards, or roughly 1.3 tons. The calculator above runs this and adds a waste allowance for spillage and settling.
How Deep Should Pea Gravel Be?
Pea gravel is usually laid 2 inches deep for patios and walkways, and up to 2 to 3 inches for areas with more foot traffic.
